Daffodils for Dad (Nov. 16, 2013)
Help beatify the neighborhood by planting Daffodils in tree boxes along Connecticut Ave. near UDC’s campus and join the Forest Hills Citizen’s Association and the
Van Ness Vision Committee for “Daffodils for Dad.” Sandy Farber, Master
Gardener Coordinator for the University of the District of Columbia, donated 3,000 bulbs as a living memorial in honor of her late father, Ted, whom she describes as a "bulboholic." Daffodil bulbs
will be planted in every Ward of the District. The Ward 3 planting
will be held on Saturday, Nov. 16, when volunteers will gather from 9:00 a.m.
to 1:00 p.m. near the Spheres next to Starbucks. This family-friendly community event will result in a welcome burst of
beauty and color next spring. Neighbors, business owners, gardeners and others
are all welcome to participate. For more information contact Mary Beth Ray, the Forest
Hills/Van Ness ANC at marybethray@verizon.net.
